Ben is a leading commercial technology lawyer and is known for advising some of Europe’s most prominent and innovative technology businesses, including several unicorns, decacorns, and tier 1 VC‑funds. He is known for delivering clear, decisive, and commercially‑driven advice on complex technology, data, and transactional issues – helping clients to move quickly while managing risk intelligently.
Ben also has a strong belief in the transformative role of AI in legal services. He plays a leading role in the firm’s legal tech initiatives, including with Raise.AI (YPOG’s VC transactional engine which delivers data-driven insights at speed). His experience at the intersection of law and technology gives clients a forward‑looking advisor who understands both the legal landscape and the operational realities of scaling a technology‑led business.
Education and Career
Ben has been consistently recognised by the leading legal directories, including Chambers and Legal500, and has been responsible for multiple legaltech award nominations. Before joining YPOG, Ben worked at Withers (2018–2025), JAG Shaw Baker (2013–2018), and Brown Rudnick (2011–2013). He holds an LL.B (first class) from the University of Kent and an LL.M (distinction) from King’s College London, as well as higher rights of audience in the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Outside his practice, Ben serves as a trustee of Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK, a charity which supports those affected by a complex neuromuscular disorder.
