Iain is a Partner in the Corporate team in London, with a particular focus on venture capital. He advises both companies and investors on corporate transactional and advisory matters. In addition, he has an interest in the operational side and how law firms can better deliver their services to clients, and he works closely with the firm's technology teams to develop the firm's client delivery.
Education and Career
Iain is a graduate of The University of Edinburgh (MA (Hons)) and the University of Law (Post-graduate Diploma in Law – Distinction). Having trained and worked in the City of London at leading national and US firms, he joined leading tech boutique law firm JAG Shaw Baker, focusing on emerging companies, with a particular focus on venture capital. When JAG Shaw Baker merged with Withers in 2018, he became a Partner at the firm, quickly being recognised as a leading "Next Generation Partner" for Venture Capital by Legal500. Iain joined YPOG in 2025 and is a founding member of the firm's London team.
