Valentin advises fund managers and investors on the structuring of investment funds in the field of venture capital and private equity as well as on all matters of investment regulatory law.

Education and Career

Valentin studied law in Munich and Warsaw. After passing the first German bar exam, he worked as a research assistant at a German law firm (Gleiss Lutz). During and after his Master's studies at New York University, Valentin worked as a Judicial Fellow at the New York Supreme Court. He passed the New York State Bar Exam in 2020. Valentin completed his legal clerkship with stations at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin and various German and American law firms in Frankfurt and Berlin (Debevoise Plimpton, Greenberg Traurig and Poellath), with a focus on investment funds and litigation.

  • A German asset manager on an investment in a Luxembourg hedge fund
  • A U.S. family office on an investment in a German venture capital fund
  • Various German family offices on investments in German, Luxembourg, and U.S. private equity and venture capital funds
  • A German fund of funds on an investment in a U.S. venture capital fund
  • A German corporation on an investment in a Luxembourg venture capital fund
