Yusuf Karaman

Cologne

Yusuf advises companies, family offices, foundations and wealthy individuals on national and international (corporate) tax law issues as well as on selected civil law matters. He also has expertise of capital market and corporate law. His dissertation deals with the liability of short-seller activists.

Education and Career

Yusuf studied law at the University of Münster with additional training in common law and a university specialization in international law. Parallel to his legal clerkship with stations at the Cologne Fiscal Court, among others, he completed the LL.M. program in Business Law (Cologne). In addition to his ongoing doctorate in corporate law, he is studying part-time for an LL.M. in Digitalization Law (Cologne) and a Master of International Taxation, M.I.Tax (Hamburg). Before joining YPOG, Yusuf worked as a research assistant at the University of Cologne and at the law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Flick Gocke Schaumburg and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in the areas of corporate law/M&A and tax law. Yusuf is on the board of the Kölner Wirtschaftsjuristen Alumni e.V.
