Niklas advises fund managers and regulated investors in the field of alternative investments on all matters relating to investment supervisory law and cross-border advisory and management structures. His advice covers fund structuring, documentation, and launch, as well as the necessary marketing documentation and approval. He also assists investment fund managers, financial services institutions, and investment firms in licensing procedures. His practice focuses on the following laws: KAGB, AIFMD, EuVECA Regulation, WpIG, MiFID, IFR, VAG/AnlV (Solvency II), CRR, and AML. He also publishes and speaks regularly on these topics.
Education and Career
Niklas studied law in Göttingen and completed his practical legal training in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main. Before joining SMP, he served as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Spindler and worked at Willkie Farr & Gallagher as well as at Pöllath + Partners in Frankfurt am Main.
