Cologne – YPOG will strengthen its Cologne office as of July 2021 with the renowned tax expert Prof. Dr. Ulrich Prinz, who joins from WTS, where he was most recently Of Counsel and Managing Director. His main areas of expertise include group tax law, cross-border tax structuring, balance sheet tax law, and corporate acquisitions. Furthermore, Ulrich Prinz is a proven expert in the taxation of partnerships, one of YPOG's key tax advisory areas.
Ulrich Prinz studied economics in Cologne. After graduating with a degree in business administration, he obtained a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.). In addition, he is qualified as a tax consultant and as a certified public auditor. Since 1998, Ulrich Prinz has been a lecturer at the Law Faculty of Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf, where he has held an honorary professorship since 2005. Further professional stations were as a partner at Rädler Raupach Bezzenberger (later Oppenhoff & Rädler) in Cologne, as a partner at FGS in Bonn and as a partner or Of Counsel at KPMG in Cologne.

Ulrich Prinz is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Berliner Steuergespräche e.V., the Advisory Board of DER BETRIEB and the Fachinstitut der Steuerberater. He is also the editor and author of several handbooks on fiscal unity, international reorganization tax law and tax accounting law.
