Hamburg – YPOG has comprehensively advised Planet A Ventures on the launch of its impact fund with an investment volume of € 160 million. The YPOG team around Julian Albrecht notably consisted of Theresia M. R. Heinrich, Lennart Lorenz and Stefanie Nagel.
Among the investors are Allianz Investment Management, BMW, KfW Capital, REWE and the Danish state investment fund Vaekstfonden. In addition, the fund is supported by well-known serial entrepreneurs such as Rolf Schrömgens (Trivago Co-Founder) Maximilian Backhaus (Global CMO HelloFresh) and Rubin Ritter (Ex-Zalando Co-CEO).
The fund impresses with its scientific approach to impact investing. Planet A Ventures boasts a dedicated scientific team which carries out so-called "life cycle analyses" as part of the fund’s due diligence process. In addition to CO2 emissions, this form of analysis takes into account the protection of biodiversity, resource savings and waste reduction, among other factors.
