Berlin – YPOG advised Rethink Ventures on the structuring of its first mobility and logistics fund. The fund will make Seed to Series A investments across Europe, with a special focus on innovative companies in the mobility, automotive and logistics industry.
The fund is backed by industry leaders like ZF Ventures (CVC arm of tier 1 automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG), Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, KION Group, Berylls and HAVI, as well as the European Investment Fund, experienced entrepreneurs and several family offices.
Rethink Ventures is committed to driving positive impact and sustainability, and is regulated as an SFDR article 8 fund. To ensure its responsible investment practices, the manager has developed a proprietary sustainability framework to assess the impact potential of every investment early on in the investment process and continuously reports the impact of the combined portfolio to the funds’ investors.
A team led by Jens Kretzschmann provided comprehensive legal advice to Rethink Ventures in structuring its first fund generation. In parallel, Frederik Gärtner’s team advised the fund on its investments. The first being an investment in shipzero. shipzero is a Hamburg-based technology company that enables transport and logistics companies to create transparency about their emissions data throughout the supply chain.
