Berlin/Hamburg/Cologne/Munich, January 5, 2026 – As of January 1, 2026, YPOG has promoted seven new partners from within its own ranks – five lawyers and two tax experts from the firm’s core practice areas. With this step, YPOG is strengthening its Data Protection, Funds, Corporate, Disputes, Tax, and Financial Regulatory teams. The firm thereby continues its growth trajectory at the intersection of law, taxation, and technology.
The newly appointed Associated Partners – Anna Eickmeier, Robert Schramm, Dr. Maximilian Trappmann, Dr. Saskia Bong, Dr. David John, Dr. Dajo Sanning, and Dr. Christoph Lüttenberg – embody YPOG’s ambition to combine legal excellence with entrepreneurial foresight and innovative drive. Together with the existing partnership, they are shaping the firm’s strategic development and defining its values and advisory philosophy.
Anna Eickmeier
Anna Eickmeier advises companies on all matters of data protection law and compliance. Her work focuses on guiding innovative business models and digital products through complex data protection requirements. She also supports clients strategically during data incidents, regulatory proceedings, and internal investigations. Another focus of her practice lies in advising on new regulatory developments such as the Data Act and their implications for digital business models.
“This appointment means one thing above all: responsibility. Responsibility for legal advice that doesn’t just react to digital transformation in German companies but actively shapes it.
My vision: data protection as a stable foundation of our digital economy. The coming years will bring decisive milestones – from the Data Act to the Digital Omnibus Regulation to a newly defined approach to data protection in an innovation landscape increasingly shaped by AI, where success depends on secure, privacy-compliant training data.
To put this vision into practice, my team and I rely on clear structures and modern legal tech tools to advise tech companies pragmatically and effectively. We aim to reduce uncertainty, create room for innovation, and help hidden champions navigate their transformation securely – gaining a real competitive edge. Digitalization in Germany? Let’s go!” – Anna Eickmeier
Dr. Christoph Lüttenberg
Dr. Christoph Lüttenberg advises listed and private companies, shareholders, and board members on corporate law, particularly SE and stock corporation law as well as transformation law. Another focus of his work lies in corporate disputes and post-M&A arbitration.
“I look forward to further expanding YPOG’s Corporate and Disputes practices as an Associated Partner. Our Corporate & Disputes team prides itself on supporting clients at the highest professional level and finding pragmatic solutions even in the most complex situations,” says Dr. Christoph Lüttenberg.
Dr. Dajo Sanning
Dr. Dajo Sanning advises fund managers and investors on the tax structuring of private equity and venture capital funds in both national and international tax law. His focus is on commercial funds and access structures for international investors. He is also an expert in cryptocurrency taxation.
“YPOG combines technical excellence and innovation in fund structuring with international perspective, team spirit, and entrepreneurial thinking. As an Associated Partner, I look forward to further developing our innovative approach and helping clients advance Germany’s position as a fund jurisdiction,” says Dr. Dajo Sanning.
Dr. David John
Dr. David John advises national and international banks, financial and payment service providers, and other financial sector entities on regulatory matters, particularly in the context of digital business models. He regularly assists clients in licensing proceedings, represents them before regulatory authorities, and advises on ongoing compliance, including anti-money-laundering obligations and transaction-related matters such as ownership control procedures.
“YPOG is the ideal place to advise ‘first movers’ operating at the intersection of innovation and regulation. Our Financial Regulatory team combines years of experience in traditional financial market regulation with openness toward new business models and technologies. I look forward to supporting clients in realizing their ideas and tackling new regulatory challenges – not only in crypto-asset services, but increasingly also in the area of modern securities trading,” comments Dr. David John.
Dr. Maximilian Trappmann
Dr. Maximilian Trappmann is a lawyer and tax advisor at YPOG focusing on wealth and business succession. His practice includes tax, legal, and strategic advice to high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, and family offices.
“Wealth and business succession have always been essential challenges for private individuals and family-owned companies. Given the demographic shift, the increasing complexity of national and international regulation, and rapid technological and economic change, the baby boomer generation and their successors face significant hurdles.
I’m truly pleased to tackle these challenges hand in hand with our clients as an Associated Partner at YPOG. Through our global mobility approach, we help clients preserve family and business assets across generations – while maintaining necessary entrepreneurial and personal freedom.
Thank you for the trust and great collaboration so far,” says Dr. Maximilian Trappmann.
Robert Schramm
Robert Schramm advises fund sponsors and managers on structuring venture capital and private equity funds as well as other investment vehicles. He assists with fund-related transactions – including secondaries and co investments – and advises on all aspects of investment regulatory law, licensing procedures, and ongoing corporate and compliance matters.
“YPOG stands for entrepreneurial thinking and genuine teamwork. I look forward to contributing to that ethos as an Associated Partner and continuing to grow our Funds and Investment practice together,” says Robert Schramm.
Dr. Saskia Bong
Dr. Saskia Bong advises fund managers on structuring venture capital, private equity, and crypto funds, as well as their investors, on all related tax, corporate, and regulatory matters. She focuses especially on commercial and cross-border structures.
“Being appointed an Associated Partner in our Funds practice is an opportunity to help shape YPOG’s forward looking legal advisory vision and strengthen Germany’s position as a fund jurisdiction – while continuing to support our clients as a trusted advisor,” says Dr. Saskia Bong.
