YPOG has advised European growth equity investor Planet First Partners on its participation in the Series D funding round of car subscription provider FINN. As part of the financing, FINN raised a total of EUR 140 million, comprising nearly EUR 100 million in equity and more than EUR 40 million in debt financing, reaching unicorn status with a valuation of more than EUR 1 billion. The round was led by Portage as lead investor, with participation from Planet First Partners and other existing investors including UVC Partners, Korelya Capital, White Star Capital, HV Capital and Picus Capital, as well as BC Partners Credit and Runway Growth Capital as debt financing providers and SevenVentures as media-for-equity partner.
FINN is a Munich-based mobility startup offering a fully digital car subscription model for private and business customers. Customers can subscribe to vehicles from various manufacturers entirely online and use them for a fixed monthly fee that covers key services such as insurance, maintenance and registration. The company aims to make individual mobility simpler, more flexible and more sustainable and is continuously increasing the share of electrified vehicles in its fleet. In doing so, FINN addresses the growing demand for digital, usage-based mobility solutions across Europe.
The proceeds from the Series D funding round will be used to further grow the business, expand the technology platform and drive international expansion. FINN also plans to further scale its operations and strengthen its offering, particularly in the field of electric mobility.
“We are pleased to work with Planet First Partners on their continued investment in FINN, and look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds,” says Dr Tim Schlösser, Partner at YPOG.
YPOG has previously advised Planet First Partners on its investment in FINN, inter alia, on the EUR 100 million Series C funding round in January 2024.
Planet First Partners invests in high-growth companies that transform environmental and social challenges into defensible market advantages and help scale them into global leaders. The investment in FINN is fully in line with this strategy, as the company delivers flexible mobility solutions with an increasing focus on electric vehicles.
