Sjard advises companies, financial investors and founders on M&A and venture capital transactions. He also advises on all aspects of corporate and capital market law.
Education and Career
Sjard studied law at Humboldt University in Berlin. He then completed a Master's programme at King's College London, where he obtained an LL.M. in International Financial Law.
After his studies, Sjard worked as a research assistant at Noerr, Linklaters and Hyazinth. His legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Berlin included positions at the German Federal Foreign Office and Barnes & Thornburg in Chicago.Before joining YPOG, Sjard worked as an attorney at Hengeler Mueller in the practice groups Corporate, M&A and Venture Capital. There he advised companies, private equity and venture capital funds and other investors on M&A transactions and financing rounds as well as on corporate and capital markets law. During this time, he completed a 5-month secondment at Roschier in Helsinki.
