YPOG advises ValueGrain on EUR 3.3 million seed financing round

Hamburg, July 6, 2026 – YPOG advised ValueGrain on its seed funding round. The Hamburg-based startup secured an investment package of up to 3.3 million EUR from Bernhard Schadeberg, managing partner of Krombacher Brauerei, and Joachim Friedsch, owner of globally active pump manufacturer Fristam. This transaction values ValueGrain at a post-money valuation of 10.3 million EUR.

ValueGrain is developing a technology that processes brewers’ spent grain, a by-product of the brewing process, directly at the brewery. The company integrates its solution into existing infrastructure and subsequently supplies the refined raw material to food manufacturers. The resulting ingredient is plant-based, high in fibre and designed for use in baked goods, meat alternatives and other food products.

With the proceeds from the financing round, ValueGrain aims to further scale its technology and accelerate industrial implementation. The startup addresses a waste problem in the brewing industry and positions its solution as a circular approach for food production.
