YPOG has advised early-stage investor Expeditions, a Warsaw and London-based firm that recently closed its EUR 197 million second fund to invest in defence companies, as lead investor and existing investor Project A on the Series A financing round of defense tech company Project Q. The company raised EUR 15 million in this financing round. The financing also included defense electronics specialist HENSOLDT, investment company Heliad and other existing investors.
Project Q develops HYDRIS, a European open-source integration and orchestration platform for defense and security applications. The software enables the vendor-agnostic integration of sensors, unmanned systems, command-and-control (C2) platforms and other technologies within a single operational environment. Its aim is to bring together fragmented data and support operational decision-making.
With the proceeds from the financing round, Project Q intends to further develop HYDRIS and scale the platform. The funding will primarily be used to expand the platform's software capabilities and advance the development of AI-powered applications for the defense sector.
“The financing round underscores the growing importance of software-based infrastructure for modern defense and security systems. European solutions that enable interoperability and strengthen technological sovereignty are becoming increasingly strategically relevant. We are delighted to have supported Expeditions and Project A in this transaction,” says Dr. Frederik Gärtner, Partner at YPOG.
