YPOG has advised venture capital investors Lakestar and Magnetic on their participation in the Series A financing round of Munich-based defense tech company Tytan Technologies. The company raised EUR 30 million in the round. YPOG has been advising Lakestar and Magnetic since the pre-seed phase and also supported the investors in Tytan's seed financing. The financing round was led by Armira and the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF). In addition to Lakestar and Magnetic, Visionaries Club, OTB Ventures, and D3 also participated as existing investors.
Founded in 2023, the company develops AI-controlled interceptor drones to defend against unmanned aerial vehicles and is now expanding its portfolio to become a more comprehensive provider of air defense solutions. The fresh capital will be used in particular to expand production capacities, develop additional air defense products, and increase personnel. Tytan plans to significantly increase its production capacity by the end of 2026.
Tytan is one of Europe's fastest-growing “new defense” companies. In addition to existing military contracts, the company's solutions are already being used in real-world scenarios. With the addition of further industry veterans to its management and advisory board, Tytan is underlining its ambition to establish itself as a European provider of scalable air defense technology.
