Hamburg, December 19, 2025 – YPOG provided legal advice to drone manufacturer Quantum Systems on the acquisition of mobility startup Fernride. With this acquisition, Quantum Systems is expanding its technology portfolio to include expertise in autonomous logistics solutions and strengthening its position in the growing market for military applications.
Fernride was founded in Munich and develops technologies for the teleoperated and autonomous control of trucks and tractors. Following a strategic realignment, the company now focuses exclusively on applications in the field of military logistics. The technology enables vehicles to be started, controlled, and stopped from a great distance, allowing one person to operate several vehicles simultaneously.
Quantum Systems is considered a leading German manufacturer of drone systems and offers solutions for air, land, and sea applications, as well as Mosaic UXS, a comprehensive AI software platform for battlefield management and unmanned systems. The acquisition of Fernride will allow the respective technologies to be combined in the future. The first joint products are planned for 2026.
“Transactions at the intersection of defense, autonomous technology, and software involve particularly high legal requirements. It is precisely in this environment that YPOG has been advising technology-driven companies on complex growth and M&A projects for years. We are delighted to have supported Quantum Systems in this strategically significant acquisition,” says Dr. Adrian Haase, partner at YPOG.
YPOG has already advised Quantum Systems on several acquisitions and financing rounds.
